The Bowe Tennis Academy has enlisted the services of extremely successful
men and women to facilitate our tennis camps. Our staff is made up of 
Central Minnesota's finest high school and college coaches.

 

JACK BOWE has been teaching and coaching tennis in St. Cloud for 21 years. Jack has seved as the Head Coach for SCSU and the College of St. Benedict and is currently coaching the men's team at St. John's University. In 1993 & 2003, Jack was named MIAC coach of the year!

Jack founded the Bowe Tennis Academy in 1986 and has been successfully training junior players ever since. A USPTA pro himself, Bowe directs a staff this year including four other certified pros, area high school coaches and top level college players. With this kind of high quality staffing, the Bowe Tennis Academy has produced 91 state tournament level players in the past four years.

 

PAUL BATES has been a tennis teaching professoinal for 20 years. He is a current member of the USPTA and the USTA. Paul has been a resident tennis pro for 16 years. He has been the girl's Head Coach at Tech High School for eleven years and is the boy's Heach Coach as well. Paul's skills as a coach have earned him awards as Section 8 AA Coach of the year three times. ('93, '94, and '96) and Boys' Assistant Coach of the year 2000.

Paul also coached the men's program at St. Cloud State University to a NCC Conference Title in 1991. He was awarded the NCC Coach of the year for 1991. Paul is not only one of Minnesota's finest coaches, he is also one of the Sections best players. In 1991, he was ranked #1 in the men's thirties and in 2002, Paul was 2nd in the 35's.

Paul Bates is the USTA  2005 Sectional High School Girls Coach of the year.

BERIT MERRILL graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the SCSU Women's Tennis Team and played the of number one singles and number one doubles for three years. As a captain her junior year she helped lead the team to the NCAA Regional Tournament and did it again her senior year. During her four year collegiate tennis career Berit also broke school records including the most single career wins.

Berit continues to be heavily involved in the tennis community in Central Minnesota. Currently, she is the On-site Coordinator for Community Education Tennis in St. Cloud. This will be her fifth year as a tennis instructor for the Bowe Tennis Academy. She is also the Head Boys' Tennis Coach for Foley High School. Berit loves the game of tennis and enjoys teaching this life-long sport to people of all ages and abilities!
