The Team Behind Bowe Tennis Academy
Jack Bowe
Founder & CEO
JACK BOWE has been teaching and coaching tennis in St. Cloud for over 35 years. Jack has served as the Head Coach for SCSU and the College of St. Benedict and is currently coaching the men's team at St. John's University. In 2019, Jack was named MIAC coach of the year! He got the same award previously in 1993 and 2003.
Jack founded the Bowe Tennis Academy in 1986 and has been successfully training junior players ever since. A USPTA pro himself, Bowe directs a staff this year including four other certified pros, area high school coaches and top level college players. With this kind of high quality staffing, the Bowe Tennis Academy has produced 91 state tournament level players in the past four years.
Chris Bowe
BTA Tennis Coach
CHRIS BOWE has been coaching tennis with the Bowe Tennis Academy for more than five years and has been on the coaching team for the St. Cloud Tech girls and boys tennis teams since graduating from Tech High School in 2013.
Chris is completing his degree in education at St. Cloud State University in preparation for his teaching license, and spends his summers coaching full time with the Bowe Tennis Academy. Chris leads our tiny tot and youth programs and is on the team for our junior varsity and varsity summer tennis camp programs.
Joe Amsberry
BTA Tennis Coach
Joe Amsberry is a USPTA certified teaching pro and has been working with Bowe Tennis Academy for the past 4 years. A native of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Joe played tennis for four years at Concordia College. During his senior year he was elected as a team captain. Following graduation from Concordia, Joe completed his masters degree in occupational therapy at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
Paul Bates
BTA Tennis Coach
PAUL BATES has been a tennis teaching professional for more than 20 years. He is a current member of the USPTA and the USTA. He has taken teams to the state tournament in 10 of his 19 years as the girl's Head Coach at Tech High School and in three of his 11 years as the boy's Head Coach. Paul's skills as a coach have earned him a variety of honors, including Section 8 AA Coach of the year four times ('93, '94, '96 and 2009), Boys' Assistant Coach of the year (2000), USPTA Coach of the Year ('06), and the Leaf Coach Award ('11).

Paul also coached the men's program at St. Cloud State University to a NCC Conference Title in 1991. He was awarded the NCC Coach of the year for 1991. Paul is not only one of Minnesota's finest coaches, he is also one of the Sections best players. In 1991, he was ranked #1 in the men's thirties and in 2002, Paul was 2nd in the 35's.
Anne Bowe
BTA Tennis Coach
Anne was a top high school player for Tech High School, going to the state tournament six years in a row. She played for the College of St. Benedict and has been coaching with BTA for five years.
